Augmented Reality Camera

I have a simple question.
Some vehicles use the augmented reality camera also as a dashcam.
However, it doesn't work in my vehicle.
Would xentry help to find out the reason or not?

I have CLA 220 (W118) and in order to use my Reality Camera as a Dash Cam i need to pay 200GBP to get it activated by Mercedes! Thi sis one-off fee and once paid you can use the Reality Camera as a Dash Cam. A little expensive for an 1080p camera in my opinion.

Yes, but that option is not in all countries.
In fact, if you activate it and visit a country that does not have it authorized, as it does through gos, it would stop working for you.

I don't think GPS is anything to do with Dash Cam. Once you pay Mercedes to get it activated, it will work permanently, despite which country you're in. There's no option in Xentry to activate it. I have tried and managed to get it activated trough DTS but every time I switch ignition off, it just resets itself to "no dash cam" state every time. I think paying Mercedes is the only way. Or disabling online services but then you'll loose other great functions trough the app.

That is the answer that the manufacturer has given me, the camera is geolocated and therefore only works within authorized areas, I have not verified it, but if the manufacturer says so, we will have to believe it.

It is option. Code U19 augmented reality camera. And code 21U dashcam. One camera, 2 options.
