Augmented Reality Camera

I have a simple question.
Some cars use an augmented reality camera as a dash cam.
However, it doesn't work in my car.
Will Xentry help to find out the reason or not?

Yes, you can view the parking control unit fault code and its actual meaning via Xentry.
It is also more convenient to replace accessories to find the faulty accessories.

Of course you helped me.
Before that I made another request to the manufacturer and they replied that I need the FUP3 software version for this. The latest version is 3, but they don't specify which unit. The official service has no idea what's going on. I'll start working on Xentry a little bit to see if I can learn anything and if I can do anything with it. I have a damaged car that I can check without risk, but first I need to learn.

I have a CLA 220 (W118) and to use my reality camera as a dash cam I need to pay £200 for Mercedes activation! This is a one-off fee and once you pay it you can use the reality camera as a dash cam. I think this is a bit pricey for a 1080P camera.

Yes, but this option is not available in all countries.
In fact, if you activate it and visit a country where it is not authorized, as happens with GPS, it will stop working for you.

I don't think the GPS has anything to do with the dash cam. Once you pay Mercedes to activate it, it works all the time, no matter what country you are in. There is no way to activate it in Xentry. I tried and was able to activate it through DTS Monaco, but every time I turn off the ignition, it just resets to "no dash cam" mode. I think paying Mercedes is the only way. Or turn off online services, but then you lose other great features through the app.

This is what the manufacturer told me, the camera is geolocated and therefore only works in permitted areas. I have not checked, but if the manufacturer says so, then you have to believe it.

This is an option. Code U19 is an augmented reality camera. And code 21U is a dash cam. One camera, 2 options.
