So this thread is about do you use your start/stop function in your car. I have W246 B200d facelit model and in the begining I was turning off automatic start/stop, but now while driving throw city I am using it. Many mechanics, owners said that this function is not good for motor health etc. (maybe when this function started rolling out), but now almost every new car has this function. Is it matter is your car diesel or benzine? I just want to see others different opinions of other car owners. Can you write down your experience about this function

definatley have to have a good battery, mine was always showing a yellow mark until i got a new battery and then it went to a green A and stop start worked, was a 2018 c class so was about time for a new battery, didnt need coding as far as mercedes said but it could still be coded in.

any engine temp req?

Most stop/start systems use battery condition, ambient temp, engine temp and any thing like aircon and rear heated screen being on to determine whether to function or not

Yes, there are many things what start/stop observe to work or not (yellow or green icon). When I turn on car first time in a day it needs some time to get green icon (default is yellow), if you turn it off manually icon disappear. I also notice if my car in stopped on downhill icon become yellow, so like you said many factors is included for active mode. And also my thread is about discussion if start/stop if worth it? Thx you all guys

Well if you ask me start/stop is a right pain, not worth it in my opinion. as i put in post above it can ruin your cam chain over time and starter motor, just put in for emissions control

I don't mind it but it seems unnecessary. Just code it so it is always off.

The only thing Start/Stop is good for is for the environment, due to the whole start/stop, you have a higher consumption, whether it's petrol or diesel.

And after a certain period of time, you overload your starter.
