As others have said, make sure the switch is properly installed, and you can also watch the actual values change with the scan tool to see if the switch is changing properly. A genuine MB stop lamp switch would be the best option.
With the new switch removed, fully pull out the stop lamp switch plunger until it stops clicking (it should move easily), depress the brake pedal, install the stop lamp switch, let the brake pedal return to the rest position and then pull up on the pedal slightly. You will hear one more click from the stop lamp switch and it will be properly adjusted.
