Hello all,

I have an issue on my MB Sprinter 2019, which has an electric steering rack. I have noticed that it makes a noise when turning the steering wheel right or left, however it does steer very well with no issues, just that noise, so I took it to the Mercedes and they told me that the Xentry tool does not give any fault, but they advise to replace the whole steering rack for as little as 4kEuro.
My question is... is there anyone in this forum that has debugged or chase any errors with Xentry on the steering of their MB? I am not sure why there is no diagnosis error, it does steer well, but they advise to replace the whole unit. I actually doubt they are correct since there are specific sensors in the steering rack so I am trying to investigate myself.

Any help would be highly appreciated, and definitely I will share what I come up with!

Electric steering, usually one problem is that the electric motor bolts become loose or break off. Сheck it. But if replacing the rack only costs 4 EURO, of course change it.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will have a look at this and see the bolts became loose. Unfortunately the replacing the rack was 4.000Euro! Thanks again!
