Free W204 Rear Subframe Replacement at MB Dealer

Yesterday I was at my local MB dealer to check the rear subframe of my 2008 W204 220 CDI OM646. I have some minor rust on the fittings and got a call today saying my MB Germany has approved a free warranty replacement for the rear subframe. Next week I will leave my car there for 2-3 days and they will replace it absolutely free of charge. Great news for W204, X204, W207 and others. If anyone notices rust on the rear subframe, I suggest taking it to an authorized MB dealer for inspection, they approve almost everything

You are right. I work in MB garage, so it is true. The warranty covers models W218, W212 and many others. Basically, any car with a steel rear subframe is subject to replacement. There are typical points that MB checks for rust. Feel free to contact your nearest MB service center.
