Hey friends, we are using the Mercedes Retail Data Storage I in our workshop.
This product is now end of live and in future no more supported by Mercedes.

Spec of RDS :

ASUS RS100-E9
ASUS P10S-M-DC
Intel 2-Core i3-7100 3,90GHz
8 GB ECC DDR4 2400MHz
4TB SATA III Seagate Skyhawk 3,5

This hardware is not very performant, but maybe for second life useful.
Unfortunately the BIOS and the BMC are locked.

Does anybody has an idea how to reset the system?

Same issue here...
I contacted the provider but he asks more than 250€ to remove it...
If you have any tips, let me know.

Try to check this:

  • Boot while while pressing/holding F2 to get into the BIOS / UEFI
  • When the enter password window appears then press Alt + r
  • Enter rescue password window will appear, with YYYY-MM-DD

Unfortunetlly the rescue password is changing each day.
Here are some passwords for 2004 (should work also for 2024, but you can also try to change the date in OS):
2004-03-11 DHL1AHL0
2004-03-12 BAB0C1AL

Ach and for the BMC reset you can use IPMI tool from SuperMicro as they used Asus IKVM. Copy of this tool should be also on some cd delivered with the equipment, but who stores that. With IPMI from CMD it should be one command to set new password.

Doesn't work for server Mainboard.

Method 1

Step 1: Go to into Bios spaceStep 2: Press Enter without pass type (You enter the Bios user space)Step 3: Change the date system to 23/Nov/2011 (23/11/2011)Step 4: Save change and exitStep 5: Reboot laptop and again enter the Bios spaceStep 6: In Password menu time don't press Enter and press Alt+RNote: This time you enter the Rescue pass menuStep 7: Type this pass "A1AAABBA" and press EnterEnjoy, You do it.

Method 2

1) Turn On The Asus Laptop. 2) Press The Following Buttons (ALT + R) At The Same Time. 3) Write Down The Following Dates On The Blue Box Password Screen. 4) Go To [ Log in or register now to view this content ] 5) Copy The Dates On The Blue Box Password Screen To The BiosBug Website and then press Search Button to get Unlock Code. 6) Enter The Following Unlock Code From The BiosBug Website Into The Blue Box Password Screen. Job Done & Saved Your Laptop

Method 3 the Best but Difficult,

Remove of course Bios Battery, Remove any Battery USV or other, Remove Power Adapter, Press Power Button 15 Sec, Insert BIOS Battery, and Have Fun,

Ok. Because I was sure that you have reset the CMOS then I suggested to use old method ( on some older servers it worked).
You have in this server motherboard model P11- something. Most probably P11-M4. To clear BIOS Administrator password only CMOS battery should be removed for a while.
Did you try it?
About the iKVM I'm model is iKVM9 and I'm pretty sure resetting the password should be available by IPMI tool.

I open the case and there is no Battery installed. The socket is empty.
when i press Alt + R nothing happens, just writes * in Enter Password window

This is Bootdisplay:

AMIBIOS(C)2015 American Megatrends, Inc. ASUS P10S-M-DC Series ACPI BIOS Revision 4401 Press DEL to run Setup. Press F12 to run Net Boot.

Press ALT + F2 to run EzFlash.

Press FB for BBS POPUP.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) 13-7100 CPU @ 3.90GHz

Speed: 3900MHz

Total Memory: 8192MB (DDR4-2400)

Execute PCI option rom, Display Controller on B:02/0:00/F:00...Success

Detected ATA device: ST4000VX007-20T166

Initialize BHC.

No battery in a socket? Very strange. I have checked the documentation for this MB and it really should have normal 2032 battery and password reset is made by the CMOS reset. Maybe you have password somewhere else like on HDD?

I think this is probably repeat but if everything else fails:
1. Start Asus computer, log into Windows, change the date to 2001/01/02.
2. Restart computer, press F2 (or Esc) key repeatedly, when the password text box pops up, press "Alt + R" at the same time.
3. When the "Enter rescue password" window appears, type in the following password: ALAA4ABA, then you will get into BIOS. Set back the date and other settings.

If that does not work try this:
Step 1.) When you are on the BIOS enter password screen all you have to do is press "Alt + R" and it should enter recovery mode.
Step 2.) There should be a test that has a date (Ex. 2002/03/22). If you go to the website [ Log in or register now to view this content ] And type in the date that is on your screen it will generate a code that if you type in should get you through.
Step 3.) Once through into the main BIOS menu go to the "Exit" tab.
Step 4.) Click "Save Changes And Exit".
