I've an ODB-2 tool for reading diagnostics for my W203 C180 but recently i can't connect anymore and doesn't give me any output.
How can i troubleshoot if there's an issue with the ODB-2 interface?

You may want to describe what OBD-2 tool you are using, maybe a photo of the interface?

Do you have another car that you could try or other diagnostic tool. what tool are you using specifically that you have problems on?

Check the power and ground lines from the obd connector, probably a fuse blew and thats why you cant connect to the ecu

Sometimes issue is broken pins but most of the time it is software related either the the software and the obd is incompatible, sometimes they sell obd 2 with only compatible with android etc. if it is the app issue i can recommend popular one named as Car Scanner in app store

For anyone wondering: When using an OBD to USB adapter it is necessary to set the Port (COM1 - COMxy) right in Windows and in the config of the software you're using. I also had problems before with the BAUD-Rate but that was for a very specific tool.

But why to connect it wired, try to connect via Bluetooth? On my last car that is how I was checking codes.

1. check power supply 12v (pin 16) and GND (pin 4, 5) on OBD connector
