I have a W204 OM646 220 CDI with AT 722.6 EGS53 from 2007.
Today I had a problem, my ESP module gave an error. Openport Xentry 2021 gave me the following faults:

230F Replace control unit 'N3/9 (CDI control unit)'.
23AD Internal control unit fault.

The DPF filter has been removed, software has been removed, EGR system and swirl flaps have been disabled.
I think it has something to do with the DPF. Can anyone tell me what is this? Maybe the guys who removed my DPF installed a bad modification file for my ECU? Do you have any help or suggestions?

Replace Engine Control Unit. Common problems on W204 OM646. The control unit needs to be replaced, this has nothing to do with modifications to DPF, EGR, swirl flaps, etc.

Yesterday there was only one error for the whole time. Stored, not actual. Do you think it will give this error again?
I have never had any problems with my ECU.
I guess reverting to the stock map file might prevent this in the future? And if I replace the whole unit, do I need to code it? Where is this ECU located?

The error will likely occur again. The stock/modified map has nothing to do with your problem. This is an EEPROM problem which is very common in this model. The ECU is located in the engine compartment on the passenger side (left-hand drive cars) under a plastic "thing". It needs to be updated, adapted, coded and possibly programmed for your vehicle.

bogdandpr thank you. I found it! Looks like someone did something to it and put a new sticker on it with a different part number.

Should I look for a replacement part, install the mod file on the replacement part, and find someone who can do the correct coding for me?
Or will just coding this part correctly prevent future problems?
