I have a persistent problem with the oxygen (lambda) sensor on my 2007 Mercedes W204 (OM646.811 engine). The check engine light is on and I keep getting the error code
23E2-015: Check component G3/2 (Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter).
The fault is marked as CURRENT and STORED.

What I have already done:

- Replaced the O2 sensor (before the catalytic converter) with a Bosch sensor and an original one from another car, but the error remained.
- I checked the wiring and connectors - no visible problems were found.
- A check was performed for exhaust gas leaks in front of the sensor - no leaks were found.

The car has a physically and software removed DPF. However, since the sensor is located before the DPF and catalytic converter, I believe this should not cause problems.
Please help!

Here is a photo of the full error and its description:

Do you see the blue book in the upper right corner of the Xentry screen? Click on it and look for the trouble code number. It will show you the fault code set criteria, and this will help you determine what information the engine control module is looking for and why it is setting the fault code.

I think the DPF software removal is not done correctly, sometimes it is necessary to disable some fault codes related to the DPF system.

Given the fact that the O2 sensor is before the DPF, I don't think this should be related to the DPF removal or its software.

If you removed the DPF, try disconnecting the O2 connector, see if the problem goes away. By the way, have you tried doing a Hard Reset?

How do I do a Hard Reset?
If I completely turn off the sensor, there will also be an error.

Disconnect the ECU connector and do not connect the sensor.

Do you mean I should disconnect the ECU, then the O2 sensor, then reconnect the ECU without the sensor?
