Hello all, I have my CLK for 3 years and last week I started feeling a big lag and no power when hitting the pedal. I took it to an independent mechanic and he said the problem was from the catalytic converters and changed them but the problem persists. I don't have any tool to connect to the car so I was wondering if anyone has an idea of what could it be? Its a V6 M112 engine.

A lag could be several things, as far as I know that engine is very reliable. If you have no diagnostic tool I would start with changing the fuel filter and check the spark plugs contact distance, after that maybe the Mass flow sensor. if that does not solve it, only way is getting a correct diagnostic, keep us updated.

Have checked the spark plugs and all are ok even though I replaced them last year. Went for the Fuel Filter had to google for the location its in the rear passenger side, changed it, than... put the key on to let the pump fill the filter. Started the car and everything ok went for a drive and lag is completely gone so the fuel filter was almost clogged for sure. Thanks for the hint pvitoria.
