W211 Heater Fan

Has anyone removed the plastic blade from a W211 heater radiator fan without damaging it? If so, how?
Is this even possible?

1. Remove the cover and turn off the power.
2. Loosen the screw or clip.
3. Soften the plastic with a little heat.
4. Carefully remove the sash.
