I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but if anyone could give me some advice, I would greatly appreciate it. I recently purchased a 2017 W463. I can't stand the stock steering wheel and would like to replace it with a different one. I don't know much about Mercedes, but I understand that upgrading the steering wheel may require an adapter. However, here in Japan they are hard to find, so I'm hoping to find a model that can be installed without an adapter. If there are compatible models, I would appreciate your advice.

I apologize if this is an inappropriate question for the forum.

If you are looking for another MB steering wheel, you can cross search by part number.
Find your car in EPC (you will find everything you need to install it on this forum), or you can try using the online version.

Looking at the steering wheel and PN, it's easy to see that it was designed for the W211.
In the installed EPC you can check on which models this type of steering wheel was installed. Then you can find another option that suits you. Of course, you can't simply add a steering wheel with changing pads, etc.

Mercedes models produced after 2012 can usually be fitted with a new steering wheel. The steering shaft splines are all the same shape. However, to be compatible with the steering switch, you will need a converter. It is very difficult to find an original used part and install a converter. In Japan, a custom-made part with a converter included can be found at auction sites for a low price. At the same time, the airbags will also need to be replaced.

BIBSHIGE, thank you for your comment. I didn't know that you could find custom parts with converters cheaply at auctions in Japan. I thought I was keeping up with this kind of information so I really appreciate the advice. I'll either keep an eye on the news or wait until the AMG model with the current steering wheel goes on sale.

Thanks for the advice! I tried to go to the site you shared but unfortunately I couldn't load it. You are right, when replacing the steering wheel, it is necessary to change the pads and other components. I'm not too familiar with EPC, but I did a little research and will look at compatible models and parts.

The current model AMG custom steering wheel is now available for sale.
