An authorization error (VIN) in the SRS unit usually occurs because the unit has not been fully commissioned. If this is the only error, the unit is not locked. Operation is not possible. Everything can be done in Vediamo. The general procedure is as follows.
1. Open access
2. Unlock
3. Code (full set of structural blocks)
4. Synchronize VIN
5. Lock
6. Hard reset
Do you recommend that I use Vediamo over Xentry to fix these issues? This is the first I'm hearing about Vediamo. I've searched the forums and unsure which version of either program to download. Thanks again for the help.
Also, will the Mini VCI cable work or do I need a different one?
DTS Monaco is also possible. It depends on which block or file (CBF or SMR-D) you are working with. The essence is the same. Mini VCI is a Vediamo v04.02.02 compatible J2534 interface for CBF operation with older types of control units. But the most important thing is that what you can do with DTS Monaco or Vediamo, you can't do in Xentry. In DAS in engineering mode you can do the same as in Vediamo. Even the translation of errors is different. It happens that there are no errors in Xentry, but Vediamo or DTS Monaco see them. Some functions in the block cannot be run in Xentry, but they can be run there.
I have installed Xentry XPT as well and Vediamo in attempts to get rid of this SRS light. I am stuck on both programs. Cannot find any developer options or a place to unlock the module to modify. Was able to get in and read my ECU and modules but was not able to get any further than my pictures below. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
I have been downloading, reading manuals, watching videos and playing around with every program I can get on here. I only have the Mini VCI J2534 cable. I don't need to nor want to do any other kind of diagnostics on this car. I am just looking to clear this SRS light whether the error goes away or the car is fine with ignoring the error message. What is the quickest and easiest way to do that as of now?
