I'm wondering if the Bosch EDC17CP01 from my 2010 A207 3.0 CDI, which has a part number listed as A6429002900, has equipment specific versions?
Just wondering if I can buy any unit with part number A6429002900 on eBay to make a clone?

If you have the same part number, you should be able to clone it. FLEX, KTAG, and other tools can do this.

Do not rely on the MB part number for compatibility/interchangeability, but on the Bosch part number. Below is a list of interchangeable Bosch part numbers.
