I have a Mercedes C180 CGI (M271 EVO). Recently received code P233617, knocking in the first cylinder. I also hear a popping sound after pressing and releasing the gas pedal, and I also hear some interesting sounds from the intake manifold, such as burbles.
Has anyone encountered anything similar?

This DTC should have corresponding freeze frame data. Feel free to post it.
Knocking can usually be caused by poor quality fuel, but it affects all cylinders equally.
Problems with individual cylinders often arise from the ignition system. If this is the case, then when the spark and coil move between cylinders 1 and 2, the fault moves to cylinder 2.
Sometimes these problems can be caused by leaks in the intake manifold. If there is a leak, the engine should respond by spraying propane/butane (light gas) along the intake (near the engine where the ducts are already separated).
The cause could also be dirt or tears/damage in the intake duct of the faulty cylinder.
It is reported that this could also be due to poor battery health. I have never seen it myself, but I have heard it many times.

It could be the coil, the car has 190000 km on it and still has the original coils installed. I also suspect a vacuum leak or some kind of evaporator leak. I often smell gas when I open the hood. I'll try changing the coils first. Thank you very much!
