Is it possible to program a used ECU to work with my car? I'd like to keep it as a spare. I've tried using the ODIS-S online program for programming, but so far it's failed every time. Is there a way to do this, or should I just try cloning it?

Your success will depend on your car's immobilizer. Sometimes ODIS-S may reject the ECU because the previous vehicle's VIN and immobilizer code are stored in the ECU.

So the best option would be to simply try to clone the original one onto the used one.

Well, if you want to use a used ECU, you need to clone it, otherwise it won't work.
What happened to the original ECU you want to replace?

No problem, I planned to use one for customization and leave the other one in its original state.
