Hello, I created this thread to collect as much information as possible about the change from COMMAND to MBUX for the pre-facelift model.
I'm currently working on this retrofit, and have encountered some difficulties and would like to discuss them with you.
A complete description from A to Z will be available to those who will be involved in this retrofit in the future.
So has anyone implemented this and can share their experience?

Instructions are available online on the Carsystems home page.
There seem to be two different installation options, the difference is to keep or upgrade the instrument cluster controller (IC213 vs IC177).

Regardless of the above, you will need to get a new head unit, a new display, a new touchpad, and the retrofit adapter.
There are many pitfalls.

If your current head unit is "high" (with Burmester audio system), the amplifier should also be replaced.
If your car is equipped with a head-up display and the instrument cluster is being replaced, the HUD will need to be replaced.
Make sure the new head unit is intended for your region (head units intended for US markets have 0.2 MHz granularity on the FM dial).
The mileage of Mercedes...
What car model are you referring to?

You will have to change the head unit to NTG6, you will need a new control unit for the instrument cluster and instrument cluster from the facelift, as well as a new touchpad. And most importantly, this is a retrofit adapter from Carsystems, they will send you full instructions after purchasing the adapter.

The mileage of Mercedes cars is stored in several places and may require some coding to be entered correctly.
The new display must comply with your country's traffic system (LHD/RHD).
Before updating, please note the limitations of NTG6 (no full screen for CarPlay and no wireless connection for CarPlay).

This could only be done using an emulator. This cannot be done in a factory way.

Are the retrofit adapter from Carsystems and the emulator box the same thing?

Yes, install their adapter and you are good to go.
