My Mercedes E-Class W213 has automatic headlights, but many people are flashing their headlights at me. Is this feature not working?
Most of the time I just turn it off manually, but lately every morning I'm driving on a very long straight road and I can clearly see where my car is, but they still flash the headlights (mostly older cars).
How do you guys use this feature?

They work well. Some drivers flicker their headlights due to a slight delay before the high beams turn off. This is especially noticeable for those whose headlights aren't very bright.

1. Is the automatic headlight adjustment correct? If the headlights are adjusted manually, are they adjusted according to the vehicle's weight, and are the adjustment motors working?
2. Check the bulbs. Are they compatible with your vehicle? If they are halogen, do they have a black tip leading to the bulb?
3. If all of the above is correct, have your headlights adjusted at a mechanic's shop. Any mechanic's shop that performs vehicle inspections has the necessary equipment.

Switch your headlights to their normal position so they change their beams faster.
If you lower your vehicle, your headlights may blind oncoming drivers.
At least that's the problem my car had.

You might want to do an initial calibration, it might help.

We usually solve these problems by updating the software of the multifunctional camera on the windshield (I work at an authorized Mercedes service center) + removing it from the windshield and cleaning the camera's field of view. I would check using XENTRY diagnostics - quite often an internal control unit error code appears.

When the highway is practically empty, trucks in the opposite lane flash their headlights at me. This happened on my previous W213 (AEJ16/1) and my current one (AEJ19/2).

In order for them to work properly, they need to be calibrated.

Automatic headlights are also adjusted/calibrated to the starting point "0" and from this point the automatic system adjusts them.

I have a similar problem with my GL550. When I lower my car, I can't see the flashing lights of oncoming cars.
