Please can someone explain two things to me?

When flashing an engine ECU, there are several software files. How do I know which ones to flash?
How do I find out the latest hardware/software version (without using online Xentry)?

I have attached a picture showing 3 current versions of the software and 2 newer versions. I entered the HW number in SW Finder 5.2 but it only showed one matching file, so I guess the database is out of date. Is there another way?

1 software number, boot (bootloader, usually not needed for updating).
2 software number, code (coding option).
3 software number, date (control program itself).
For updating, code and date are usually required.
But the most important question is: what is it for? Unless TIPS specifies updating recommendations.
Not everyone has access to XUS.
Newer version available. Not found in 5.2, better get latest version from XUS.

I can get the latest version using XUS as you say, but how do I know which file is the latest so I can find it?

Solution
Thank you very much for this explanation.
For example, if I have a car that I need to remove AdBlue from and there is no newer file online, I would try to flash it to factory firmware using DTS, but I don't know what files I need to reflash.
I've seen people flash only one firmware file, but Xentry often flashes two and I don't know why.
I'm trying to understand these things in more detail.

If you just need to reflash, then do not touch *904*, find your software numbers in SW Finder and reflash them. For engine modules it is *902* and *903*. The *904* file is a bootloader, and if something goes wrong, your control unit will stop communicating.

If you think you will find the original firmware with AdBlue removed, you are wrong. This is done with other tools.
