I discovered this connector while removing the main battery from my Mercedes-Benz E200 (2014). I couldn't find any place where it could have come loose or become disconnected.
The connector has the following markings: 09441211, 1685452928.
I would appreciate any help in identifying it or determining where it connects.

This is a pyro fuse, a battery emergency switch or a current control element at the negative terminal of the IBS. The photo shows that it is thermally burned.

Isn't this a heated windshield installation?

This is the windshield heating cable.

Yes, now I'm almost certain it's a broken wire from the old windshield I replaced over a year ago. It must have fallen off during the replacement, and whoever did it didn't bother to pull it out. Thanks, that's a lot of work.
