Hi All,
I'm thinking to upgrade my NTG5.5 Entry device (Audio2) to NTG5.5 COMMAND system but do not sure the additional feature I could have.
Any body who have experience could be share the difference between this 2 system?
Thanks

For a little I know, it gives you better and faster navigation. Better sound quality, CarPlay and wired android auto.

In addition to the speed, they have different size of the screen in some application you run in the vanilla system.

Hello,

I have access to both systems (last year upgraded my 5E to 5.5 Entry Audio 20 - Code 506) and another W213 with factory build in NTG 5.5 High Command.
Both systems provide support for Car Play and Android Auto, both have 12 inch screens and to be honest, if you switch to Car Play they behave identical e.g. nearly the same speed, reaction time to commands etc.

The 5.5 Entry navigation is not so slow as my previous 5E Head unit was. It runs from SD card that can be easy exchanged with updated map version.

Command navigation runs from hard disc build in the head unit. Maps update is also very easy over the USB stick and Mercedes Download Manager software. (you need to buy access pin for map activation).

In general both navigations screens looks very similar and the usage too. But I didn't compared all the functions very deeply.

Regarding the sound quality: I upgraded my front speakers and additionally the bass (from 16cm to 20cm) and I believe that the sound is much better than in the car with NTG5.5 High (Command). Much clearer and more punchy bass, better high frequencies.

In USA Command provides Sirius (Satellite) radio, and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) is also possible.

If you don't have CarPlay/Android Auto support in your NTG 5.5 Entry then first try to activate it and check whether maybe those functions are sufficient for your needs before you upgrade to command.

I am not native English speaker, therefore above text can contain grammatical and other errors. Sorry.

Thank you for clear explanation. I can see main difference is about Navigation system and some audio improvement. Anyway, My HU55Entry have Mercedes me enabled. If retrofit to new HU. Do you experience how to migrate or move Mercedes Me service to new one. Or need to go to Mercedes service to let them transfer?

The Mercedes me services are connected to your VIN, not directly to HU and the communication with the Mercedes backend runs over HERMES module (which is hopefully LTE in your case). This module will be NOT replaced together with the HU.
When replacing HU you need to transfer all the HU settings to the new one (variant and SCN coding). This can be done by the Mercedes Service. Also they have to update your data card ( code 506 to 531).

This very clear to me. Addition request. I've bough HU55 command but still worry to install to the car cause I'm not engineer and no garage nearby who can help. So, I would like to test/turn on HU on desk and connect to my spare IC display. Could you please advise which pin on HU connector should I supply the power to make it turn on?

In Block A2 of your Quadlock there is PIN 12 for Ubat - and PIN 15 for Ubat +. But you need an EIS (with CGW) to make it work. IC can be read out and coded without EIS (CGW), HU will turn to Antitheft mode without it. So additional you need to write the VIN of the EIS to HU as well as the Antitheft Code. When installing in your car you need to do these steps again.
