Hello, I'm new here and I need your help.
Can anyone explain to me how to read FSC from G31 to generate FSC for navigation update?
Thank you very much for your support.

Certainly! FSC (Feature Set Code) is a unique code used in BMW vehicles to activate certain features or updates, such as navigation map updates. The FSC code is generated using the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and the map data version.

To generate an FSC code for updating navigation on a BMW G31, you usually need to follow these steps:

1. Obtain the VIN of the vehicle.
2. Obtain the map data version. This can usually be found by going into the vehicle's navigation system. Go to Settings or System Information to find the current version of the map.
3. Use a BMW FSC Generator. Various software tools and online services are available that can generate FSC codes using the VIN and map version.
These tools often require you to enter the VIN and map version, after which they will generate the corresponding FSC code.
4. Enter the FSC code into the navigation system. Once you have generated the FSC code, you can enter it into your navigation system to activate the update.

You just need to find a 1b file extractor. Once you've pulled the 1b file out of your car, apply it to the FSC generator and you're done. All you need is a USB stick with the 1b file extracted inserted into the glove box USB port when starting the car.

Unfortunately, this only works with a CIC system with file 1b.
What is this modern instrument and where can I get it?

Your G31 probably has NBT EVO, for which you can use a feature code (€45 or less) to get lifetime FSC for maps. You will need an ENET cable.
Or you can go OEM style by paying €80 for one year of updates. Or, my personal advice, a two-year OEM FSC for €120.
Let me know if you need more information.

To find the FSC code for HU_NTB you can use a program (it didn't work for me) so I found it manually.
