I replaced the front seats in my 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS 219. The old ones were ventilated, the new ones are made of smooth leather. Unfortunately, the passenger seat occupancy sensor appears to be different as it is missing one contact. My airbag malfunction indicator came on. Is it possible to code this other mat? I mean the passenger seat specifically.

Two brands (types) of seat mats are used in the W219. I had the same problem, and the easiest way to solve it is to transfer the mat from the old seat to the new one, which takes about an hour. You can't program a different mat because the controller is different. You can only trick the SRS controller (with a little fiddling around).

You can disable seat recognition using DAS in the development menu. Change the variant coding of the AKSE/OC from "Beifahrer Verbaut" to "Nicht Verbaut".
