I'm using Xentry v06.2023 with a clone of the Tactrix Openport 2 interface. When connected to the R230, I cannot use the Ignition check box because it is grayed out. This means that some functions cannot be performed because they require the Ignition check box to be unchecked. I read that this grey box requires installing something called "Ignition Enabler", but I can't find a copy of that utility. Is there a way to enable this feature or will it just not work with my setup?

I think you want this.
To fix the inactive ignition button in Xentry v06.2023 with a cloned Tactrix Openport 2 interface, you need to use the "Ignition Enabler" tool. This can be done by editing the "global.sim" file located in the "C:\ProgramData\Mercedes-Benz\csd\writefil\sim" folder using Notepad. In the file, change the IGNITION value from ON to OFF or vice versa. Additionally, there are downloadable tools that automate this process, allowing you to turn on the ignition flag directly from your desktop. These methods require careful manual work and have no official support, so they should be approached with caution.

Editing "global.sim" doesn't seem to work. I've seen exactly the same answer on many forums, but the link to the tool is no longer available. Is the tool available here?

I had problems when I wanted to clear the trouble codes. The field is always gray and unchangeable. After opening "Ignition Enabler" as a program I was able to change the ignition to off.

Solution
Can the original Openport detect ignition?

I can confirm that "Ignition Enabler" works, you just have to remember to run it before launching Xentry.
