Does anyone know if I need to calibrate after replacing the turbo actuator or just install and drive? Thanks.

If it's not aftermarket, but an original with the same number, then perhaps it is not necessary. Some models have the ability to detect boost position using Xentry.

What engine? Are you referring to the electronic variable vane actuator, or the actual wastegate vacuum diaphragm assembly?
The electronic variable vane actuator does usually have a teach in process with DAS/Xentry, and it's a good idea to perform that.
A wastegate vacuum diaphragm does not have any teach in procedures.

Probably we are talking about a turbine VTG with an electronic actuator. There are NO adaptations of it in DAS or Xentry. Just pay attention to the correct actuator number (for OM642 G277) when ordering on AliExpress and the ease of movement of the turbine blade drive. Install and go. We have installed it several times and it works great.

I also changed the VTG actuator from Hella to a Chinese model.

I bought it from a turbo specialist who programmed the actuator using the original codes.
It seems important that the maximum and minimum angles are identical.
That's right, programming from Xentry is not possible.

I hope this helps.
