SDD or Pathfinder

My vehicle's build date is January 31, 2017. I have encountered conflicting information about whether the SDD software applies to pre-2016 or pre-2017 vehicles. Is there a way to accurately determine which diagnostic software I need using the VIN? I have been trying to determine when the transition occurred, but I am having a hard time trusting much of the information available. Thanks for any help and advice you can provide.

If you have a 2017 DOIP car, I think you need to use Pathfinder... SDD does not support this car, only 2016.

Pathfinder was decommissioned a few months ago and you will now have to use JLR Topix. Pathfinder servers are no longer available.
Topix is mainly intended for DOIP cars, there are a few exceptions for CAN.
