W164 rear tailgate not closing i checked all wiring regarding with rear tailgate wires are ok.no fault code found.

Check if the engine (under the spare wheel) is functional, water often collects there and floods it. The rear one may also be damaged

Problem solved.the problem was rear trunklid control unit was defective because of water into control unit found.thanks for ur help

It's the pinch sensor I had the issue. sometimes it just gets water and it stops working. its the black molding by the taillights that goes up towards the roofline. Atleast try that do you have a tool that can give you more detailed info? Mbstar or iCarsoft?
