W164 Rear Tailgate

W164 rear tailgate does not close. I checked all the wiring associated with the rear tailgate, the wires are fine. No fault code found.

Check the engine's functionality (under the spare wheel), water often accumulates there and floods it. The rear one may also be damaged.

Problem solved. The problem was that the rear trunk lid control unit was faulty due to water getting into the control unit. Thanks for your help.

I had a problem with the pinch sensor. Sometimes it just gets water in it and it stops working. It's the black molding by the tail lights that goes all the way up to the roof. At least try that. Do you have a tool that can give you more information?
