New to the site but happy to be here :)
My question is, I have an Audi A4 B7 2.0 TDI, had a replacement engine fitted and since then my engine light comes on and the code reads ad EGR valve insufficient flow/pressure... I have had the original swapped over from my old engine but the code still persists. There are no obvious blockages in the system I can see. Can it be coded out to remove the engine light from dashboard?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi, the only way is to disable EGR in the ECU via reflashing.

Hi thanks for the reply, I thought I could do long code it out via VCDS?

No, it is not possible to code EGR on/off using long coding.

Ah ok thanks for the info! The car has a map but a rebuilt engine (same ECU) but now it shows "EGR insufficient flow" so I replaced it with my original one but the error still shows on VCDS. I mean I went back to my original EGR valve.

But if the EGR has a flexible EGR pipe, check for leaks. This is a very common fault in the Transporter T6, there is a deviation in the EGR flow due to a cr@cked pipe.

If the cause is not found, then the EGR can be disabled via the ECU firmware to disable the EGR or simply make it allow a wider range of deviations. If your car has a DPF, make sure that the modified ECU software allows the EGR function in regeneration mode, otherwise you will soon block the DPF.

Check the EGR system for leaks.
Also check and clean the EGR valve from dirt and soot. Wash the tubes and channels to remove dirt and carbon deposits.
After this, the error will most likely disappear.
