I bought this GODIAG GT109 cable, does it work fine with Mercedes and BMW cars? Can it be flashed?

No, GT109 can not flash ECU. It is a diagnostic tool, not a flashing tool. For basic diagnostics, GT109 is good.

For BMW you will need ISTA-P (Rheingold) + ENET or KESS/BDC cable.
For Mercedes you will need Vediamo, DTS Monaco or XENTRY with the appropriate multiplexer, such as VXDIAG.

Isn't GT109 the same as a cheap ENET cable?

Technically yes (if you have RJ45), but not recommended, it's overkill and expensive compared to standard CAT 6/7 cables.
