In my W166 the front camera shows an electrical fault.
The wire to the camera was cut. I fixed the cable by cutting a new one and soldering it to the old one.
I have a new camera, I tried it out.
After repairing the cable and trying to connect a new camera I still get the same electrical fault error.
Help me, please.

Restart the module with DTS Monaco, then perform calibration.

Thanks. I don't have a DTS Monaco yet. I'm trying to get a copy. Otherwise I'll have to go to the dealer.

You need to check for a new software update or perform SCN coding.

If the old error reappears after repair, it means that the stored fault code is still causing problems. You will need a tool like Xentry, Vediamo or DTS Monaco or something else that will allow you to access the control unit and reset the fault code.

Are all the wires OK? Could there be a grounding problem?

Repairing the camera cord is a bad decision! Only a new cord will solve the problem!

Are the cameras genuine or aftermarket Mercedes cameras? I have had several aftermarket cameras bought on eBay that did not work and gave the same fault message as you. After replacing with the genuine Mercedes camera, the DTS Monaco system can recognize the camera equipment information (serial number, etc.) and perform calibration.

Otherwise, check each wire in the camera cable with both ends disconnected - resistance should be <3 Ohms on each wire.

Were you able to solve this problem?

I recently encountered a similar issue where I found a "general electrical fault" for both the front and rear cameras, causing the head unit to display an error symbol with no video and they could not be calibrated in Xentry or DTS Monaco. Both side cameras are fine. Tried different firmware versions on the SVS control unit, replaced both cameras, replaced both camera cables, and just replaced the control unit, but the problem still persists.

Paul was right, the LVDS cable cannot be repaired. The problem was solved only by replacing the cable from the control unit to the front bumper. The original cable route was not usable, so I had to change it. Now I have a fully working 360 degree camera.
