Does anyone know if ZenZefi certificates are required to code the new 2024 Mercedes CLA facelift models?

Yes, the new 2024 Mercedes CLA facelift models require ZenZefi certificates for coding. This is a ZenZefi After-Sales STANDARD certificate. It is also mentioned that new cars without ZenZefi will not be able to use DTS Monaco or other services. ZenZefi certificates are required for coding and other work on these models, which highlights the importance of having these certificates to perform any coding work on these models.

Thanks for the reply. By the way, do you know what type of certificate is needed for coding?

There are specific ECU coding certificates that can be used with DTS Monaco for latest DOIP vehicles. I don't think this will be published freely.

Code:
NO_TYPE("certType.NoType", "No Type", 100),
BACKEND_CA_CERTIFICATE("certType.BackendCaCertificate", "Backend CA Certificate", 2),
BACKEND_CA_LINK_CERTIFICATE("certType.BackendCaLinkCertificate", "Backend CA Link Certificate", 3),
ROOT_CA_CERTIFICATE("certType.RootCaCertificate", "Root CA Certificate", 1),
ROOT_CA_LINK_CERTIFICATE("certType.RootCaLinkCertificate", "Root CA Link Certificate", 2),
ECU_CERTIFICATE("certType.EcuCertificate", "ECU Certificate", 3),
DIAGNOSTIC_AUTHENTICATION_CERTIFICATE("certType.DiagnosticAuthenticationCertificate", "Diagnostic Authentication Certificate", 3),
ENHANCED_RIGHTS_CERTIFICATE("certType.EnhancedRightsCertificate", "Enhanced Rights Certificate", 4),
TIME_CERTIFICATE("certType.TimeCertificate", "Time Certificate", 3),
VARIANT_CODE_USER_CERTIFICATE("certType.VariantCodeUserCertificate", "Variant Coding User Certificate", 3),
VARIANT_CODING_DEVICE_CERTIFICATE("certType.VariantCodingDeviceCertificate", "Variant Coding Device Certificate", 3),
SEC_OC_IS("certType.SecOcIs", "SecOcIs Certificate", 4),
VIRTUAL_FOLDER("certType.virtualFolder", "Virtual folder", 101);

In the facelifted CLA models, only some modules (IC177M, HU7, MRR223, etc.) require certificates, most of them are still old.

W206 does not work without certificate. I checked.
It seems that the certificate is needed to unlock EZS as a gateway in the car.
So, I tried to connect as Renault to EZS, but it only connects to some modules (not all).
I also could not connect directly to the ECU (in my case MRD2). The CANBUS of MRD2 seems to work at 2 MB/s (measured with an oscilloscope), so my Openport interface does not work.

I don't think you need a certificate to unlock the EZS on facelift models, I own a 2024 GLE and I could enter permission 3B on EZS167 and do variant coding to some of the "old" ECUs (eg. ALC213, was adding some deleted ambient lights to the seat panel and rear door pockets) with DTS Monaco with no issue.

No luck on the new ECUs like IC177M and HU7, I only got Openport 2.0 which lacks the DOIP capability anyway, I'm happy with what I have now :)
