Raise the window to the highest position without using "auto mode", then pull the window switch all the way up as if you were using "auto mode" and hold it there for 10-15 seconds. It will reset and all should be well.

Also works on W205 2018 pre-facelift. I was worried that it would only work with Keyless Go (there is only Keyless Start), but it does.
By the way, Mercedes term is "Tunnel Mode".

Switching residual heat on and off.

Requirement: The vehicle must be parked. The residual heat from the engine can be used to heat or ventilate the front passenger compartment for approximately 30 minutes, depending on the set temperature.

Turn on: Press the AC button, the residual heat will automatically turn off.

Confirmed and works on S212/W212.

Pressing and holding the button again will also open the windows and roof to the same position they were in previously.
It is designed to quickly close all windows and turn on recirculation in the event of approaching rain, the appearance of smoke or another unpleasant odor.
