I recently replaced the window regulator on my VW Scirocco, but I'm having problems with the Comfort Open/Close feature. The window goes up and down manually, but the automatic one-touch open feature and remote comfort open no longer work.

I already tried the basic reset (holding the up and down button for a few seconds), but that didn't fix the problem.

Can anyone tell me what software or coding steps are needed to recalibrate the module? I have access to a diagnostic tool, but I'm not sure which modules or adaptations I need to check for the Scirocco door control unit.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Are you getting any error codes related to the thermal protection?
Is there anything incorrectly installed in the door that's causing excessive resistance, such as a seal?

Have you recently replaced the mechanical regulator or any electrical components?

Does the window move freely along the tracks? Try the basic settings again, but with the motor running and the system voltage higher. If the door module hasn't been replaced, there's no need to tamper with the coding.

To clarify: the one-touch up/down function works perfectly, so the basic limit learning appears to be working properly.

My specific issue is with the "Short Drop" (or "Window Dipping") function. When I pull the door handle, the window doesn't lower the 10 mm required to avoid hitting the ceiling. It's a Scirocco, so without this function, the glass hits the weatherstrip/molding when opening or closing the door.

Since the one-touch function works, I suspect the door control module may have lost its specific code for the frameless door or is not receiving the signal from the door handle microswitch correctly.

Does anyone know the specific long coding or adaptation channel in VCDS to reactivate the small down function on a Scirocco?

I can check the encoding in the files. You can try if you tell me what year the car is and whether this applies to the driver's door.
Otherwise, if you have access to VCDS, it's easy to check in a coding helper tool.

If the "Window Dipping" function worked before the window regulator was replaced, it's unlikely that the door controller has lost its code. I'd say it's most likely a problem with the window regulator adjustment (window tilt angle). You can also check the signal from the door switch to see if it responds to movement of the handle.

1spat, this would be very helpful! The car is a 2010 Scirocco, and the problem is specifically with the driver's door. I use Autocom/Delphi, so I don't have VCDS "Coding Helper", which makes it easy to see the checkboxes. If you can find the specific bits or adaptation values, I'll try to find them in my program.

benio1980, I understand your point about the tilt angle, but the glass appears to fit perfectly when closed. The reason I suspect a coding issue is because I briefly disconnected the electronic module during the repair. I'll definitely check the live data for the door handle microswitch in Delphi today to rule out a faulty sensor.

I'll report back once I've tested the switch signal. Thanks again!

You should definitely check VCDS for any errors or adaptation issues (perhaps a signal loss). It's also possible that, like many other components in Volkswagen, it will require re-adaptation if they were disconnected. This windows feature may not be an exception.

The window doesn't open when you press the handle, and the automatic window up/down function doesn't work. Disconnect the positive battery terminal for at least 10 seconds, then adjust the window manually using the window control button (fully raise the window and hold for 2-5 seconds, then fully lower it and hold for 2-5 seconds) and the central locking remote control. Before doing this, you must correctly code the window controller (driver's 0016437, passenger's 0016436).
