I'm stuck and looking for help from someone who has already completed this cluster.

Vehicle: 2002 VW Bora, VDO instrument cluster, Immo 3.
Task: Program a key using the instrument cluster dump (cluster removed, reading via OBD is not possible).
Equipment: Autel IM508, OBDSTAR, Smart Pro.

What I have already done:

  • Read the dump and obtained the PIN code (01436) using an external decoder.
  • The PIN code is rejected when attempting to program it on the car.
  • Tried the Autel "write key from dump" function - encountered a "BIN file size is not correct" error.
  • The chip read is a 24C08.

My questions:

  1. In which memory chip are the Immo 3 data (PIN + CS) stored on this VDO cluster? Am I reading data from the wrong chip?
  2. What dump file size for this instrument cluster does Autel expect?
  3. Do I need both the CS and the PIN for the key programming procedure, or is the PIN alone sufficient to add a key?
  4. Can you recommend a proven method or tool for obtaining the PIN and CS from a valid dump?

I would be very grateful for any help. Thank you.
