It works with my Atmega162 clone, but the updater doesn't have an interface. Is there a way to update my cable?

The Atmega162 cable is not upgradable. In fact, there's no point in upgrading it. It will only work with vehicles manufactured no later than 2017-2018.

Can anyone tell me the maximum model year this software can diagnose/program? If it can diagnose/program cars up to and including 2022, which cable do I need?

Interfaces with the Atmega162 microcontroller are only suitable for use in vehicles manufactured up to and including 2019.

The Atmega version is not compatible. The ARM version may work, but it will require unlocking the SFD.

My interface for communicating with the ARM microchip is stuck in a mode where the blue and red indicator lights are flashing. My computer recognizes it in Device Manager, but VCDS does not. Can this problem be fixed using this program?

You will likely need to check if the firmware can be updated. Here is the full version of the loader, which you can use to check for and install firmware updates.
