I have a VW Golf MK5, after purchasing it, an electrician repaired the fog lights. But after a while, I noticed that an error appeared on the dashboard about the malfunction of the Left and Right fog lights. But if I turn them on, it lights up. If the fog lights are turned off and the Xenon is on, then when you turn left, the left fog light turns on, and when you turn right, the right one turns on. So it seems to be working. So why the errors?

I know that the Skoda Superb has fog lights and next to them, closer to the sides, side lights. And when turning they light up, but the fog lights do not. Were these wires connected at that time? Because they changed the fog lamp sockets.

Are you sure that all the cables are in the right places? Have you ever read it with VCDs?

There was a batch of defective lamp holders. The plinths were changed for me under warranty. When driving, the lamp went out, an error was recorded, but the lamp continued to burn, then leaving an error. Perhaps this is the reason.

Error codes taken from VCDS. Or what do you mean by reading in VCDS? What cables are actually connected?

Not sure. I bought it after the accident. So maybe the cables were broken or the bulb sockets were broken and they reconnected new ones. Maybe they connected them incorrectly? Is there a wiring diagram with wire colors so I can see what goes where?
Should fog lights only shine in the direction you're turning? Or are these other light signals?

The fog lights are connected to the ground wire. The function is controlled by measuring current. Both together result in the ECU being unable to decide whether the wires are open or shorted to positive - both result in no (or insufficient) current.
Please check the bulbs to ensure they are of the correct electrical power (lower power LEDs result in less current and may be misinterpreted as a fault).
I'm worried about low voltage in the system. Does the fault display only appear when the engine is switched off (voltage below 13V)?

The turn light function is called Corner. It can be activated and will work when you turn the steering wheel. A lamp error is only registered when the circuit is broken. A short break causes an error message to appear, but the headlights remain on. If the LED lamp without CanBus is bought on AliExpress, it will also give an error.

You probably have LED bulbs without CanBus installed. If you don't want the message to be displayed on the instrument cluster, you need to code the Instrument Cluster (block 17) via VCDS - just select coding without bulb control.
