I'm new here and it's great to have so many smart people around!

I'm currently learning how to use DTS Monaco 8.16 and 9.02, can someone explain what SMR-D and CBF files are? And what are they used for? I want to learn the basics of software and move on.
Also if any of you have any tutorials, videos, PDFs on using DTS Monaco it would be really helpful if you could send them.
Hope this helps all the new people in DTS Monaco.

Both files are used by DTS Monaco to work in Workspace. CBF files are older than SMR-D, and the latter is better. If I'm not mistaken, DTS Monaco 9 does not work with CBF files.
I'm relatively new to DTS Monaco 8.16 and Vediamo 4.2.2 and was wondering if any of you create your own workspace in DTS Monaco or do you use the existing workspaces for each car model?

You have both options.
If you have a project, you can open an existing workspace, but if you are using DTS 8.16, you can open a temporary workspace, which means you can open one or more SMR-D files and work with them.
Both options are good.
You can also create your own project using several SMR-D files.
The easiest way is to have an existing project, but in some cases you will have to replace some SMR-D files in the project because they are outdated.

Yes, it depends on the situation. Sometimes you need access from projects. Sometimes you need a temporary workspace.
Example W205. Some work fine with existing SMR-D, some need to be updated.

I disagree.
As far as I know, you don't need to do codification with the project or with the temporary workspace (SMR-D files). You can choose the option.
I may be wrong, but you can code everything using an existing project or temporary workspace.

It is not possible to code the PCB in the 7G gearbox using Vediamo/DTS Monaco.
The PCB is part of a safety-critical component. These include the ESL control unit and the 7G gearbox.
If you can read old data from a transmission, it is not enough to simply code, save and transmit variants.

Vediamo by Vector, Monaco by Softing - both softwares are already outdated for coding! But you can use Vediamo (my shared files), it works only for Vediamo, in these files of course there are SMR-D and CBF files, quick tests, scripts etc. The problem is that no one has NEW files from the developers, my friends work at the factory only online and not on their laptops, and DTS Monaco has been flooded with files from Xentry many times, nothing special no matter what version you use. Until the NEW files come out you will only be able to do basic diagnostics and maybe a little coding here and there, all other programs have the same Xentry files. If you understand.
