It is my concern as well - previously it was included as an option code for people with SCN access to include but now the feature set for add-ons are very limited.

You can imagine if the Distronic system did not stop in-time, MB would not want to be liable for any lawsuits.

I have had the emergency system intervene as usual when you’re too close and it has worked every time although with Distronic mode - once I had encountered the car failing to stop behind a car at set of traffic lights on a dual carriage. So I wouldn’t mainly rely on it - it is an assistance as MB calls it and is a very basic autonomy feature. It isn’t a Tesla by any means :p

You also don’t have cross traffic awareness for people merging in with the inevitably larger distance gaps the system leaves. That's why Distronic Plus includes the rear radar and intelligent drive module.

My vehicle was out of warranty it is 2019 build, and I did perform a recall at MB and they did not say anything. The retrofit hasn’t disappeared so I don’t think there is a problem.

In your guide you have specified the coding for "Automatic Speed Control" (546) to enable adaptive speed after activating Distronic Pro, for which you need to replace "Speed Limit Assist/Speed Sign Recognition" (504) with "Traffic Sign Assist" (513).

My car has "Active Lane Keeping Assist" (243) and "Speed Limit Assist" (504). And as far as I understand, I have a front mono camera, which I noticed only recognizes speed limit signs. Now I'm trying to determine if "Traffic Sign Assist" (513) and "Automatic Speed Control" (546) can be enabled on my car via coding.

Variant coding for "Traffic Sign Assist" (513) to replace "Speed Limit Assist" (504):

  1. EZS167 -> 006 EVC_CfgBit_97_C8 Write -> 504 SPEED SIGN RECOGNITON -> nein
  2. EZS167 -> 004 EVC CfgBit_65_96 Write -> 513 ROAD SIGN DETECTION (SLA) -> ja
  3. HU6 -> 056 Vehicle Functions Write -> TSA -> TSA
  4. SMPC213 -> 002 TSA coding Schreiben -> Country coding <MY COUNTRY> -> TSA high TR off CWA WWA

I waited about 30-60 minutes after doing the coding above and then went on a trip when I noticed my car was still only detecting speed limit signs. So either I'm missing some more coding or it needs some hardware upgrades to work.

Variant coding for "Automatic Speed Control" (546):

  1. EZS167 -> 002 EVC CfgBit_01_32 Write -> 546 AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL -> ja
  2. HU6 -> 056 Vehicle Functions Write -> DTRCurve -> offsetgen2
  3. HU6 -> 056 Vehicle Functions Write -> speedlimitoffsetgeneration -> TSA
  4. FCW177 -> 007 Function SDTR Write -> Speed Limit Pilot -> SL auto + manually
  5. FCW177 -> 011 HU Delivery Settings SDTR Write -> Speed Limit Pilot -> active

I also waited here for about 30-60 minutes after coding above and then went on a trip when I discovered "Route-based Speed Adapt". In the Assistance section and "Adopt limit" in the "Speed Limit Assist" section in the Assistance section in my car. However, I didn't notice them doing anything useful. The only thing I noticed is that when I turn on the "Route-based Speed Adapt", feature, it automatically turns off after a few seconds and I can't leave it on. As far as I understand, "Automatic Speed Control" (546) requires an Intelligent Drive Controller (IDC). I'm not sure if my car has such a controller, but I suspect it doesn't.

Any advice and suggestions would be highly appreciated.

The difference between TSA and SLA, is that in TSA mode the speed limit icon will always be present, it using map data plus whenever the mono camera detects a new sign it will change using that. The map data for example in the UK is heavily detailed, so it will also have two icons for speed of ramps on the highway when you are exiting them.

With the original SLA-only mode, it will only display a speed icon based on what the mono camera has seen. Again, it depends heavily on the map data, if it has been updated and how much detail HERE technologies has added for your country.

This is NOT traffic light view - this requires the AR camera to show traffic lights when you are stopped.

The option for DTR does not work, you will need an intelligent drive controller, it is why I added a note in the guide (not sure if it works), although I can confirm it does not, route-based adaptation requires that module.

The option for adding 546 with offsetgen2 is to add a menu under "Traffic Sign Assist" so that for speed changes when you go from 50 mph to 40 mph let's say, the car will instantly change speed.

Is there by any chance a solution to use the camera without a map for TSA detection?
In countries where the map does not contain TSA information, nothing will be displayed on the dashboard.

I activated the alarm as described in the document.
Everything works so far, but I have no way to turn the alarm on or off on the head unit (HU6).
Does anyone know how to make this work?

The alarm function is a feature, so it cannot be turned on or off. It can only be coded.
The alarm is activated when the car is locked and deactivated when it is unlocked.

And is there a motion sensor in the cabin or does the alarm only protect the doors?

The alarm is triggered only when the doors are opened from the inside when the car is locked. There is no motion sensor inside the car.

When the gyroscope detects that the car is shaking (for example, when someone hits the car) or when someone opens the door even if the car is locked (for example, when the door window is open and you reach inside and open the door from the inside).

The manual says that this is only possible on EQB. Or are these two different options?
