Yes, these systems are also built into truck engines. They have fewer problems there, but the trucks are also more expensive because of it. Manufacturers try to save every cent on expenses to maximize their profits, and they sell parts at abnormally high prices when customers have no way to avoid buying them. It's called capitalism.

The only option is to go to someone who has Star.
My DPF pressure sensor failed so regeneration could not occur.
According to Star my DPF was 400% full but there was no warning light on the dash and the car drove fine.
I would be very interested to know what percentage is full for you!
Now I do short trips but put it in sport mode so the revs are higher in each gear and once it warms up I press the accelerator harder, not at high revs but under higher acceleration.
Many months have passed and the DPF is barely full when measured!
