I swapped the engine on a Q7 2006 4.2 FSI BAR to a 2010 4.2 FSI BAR, the intake manifold is different, the 2006 has different geometry and swirl flap servos, and since 2010 the intake manifold is controlled by two electromagnetic vacuum valves. The question is do I need a 2010 ECU or can this be solved with software? My ECU is 4L0910560B, and in 2010 it is 4L0910560K.

The intake manifold is a system for ecology. Other programs for the engine can interfere with the communication of the transmission, ABS and other systems, that is, they are incompatible with the program. It will be cheaper to either thin out something physically, or simply cut out the ecology or the presence of bugs.

I did everything. I decided to replace the ECU from the 2010 restyling with 4L0910560K. I linked the immobilizer via ODIS online. Without variable geometry everything works fine, there will be no thrust in the lower rev range (provided the manifold is short) and there will be high consumption, I have already gone through this by removing the flaps to change the geometry.
