I need a J2534 interface that supports XENTRY PassThru reasonably well, within a £20-£50 budget.
So far my search/recommendations have led me to the Tactrix Openport 2.0 interface (original price £180). However, I'm initially interested in trying out more budget alternatives.
The car is a 2009 W207 E350.

Cool. Let me know how it goes. I would buy it too if it worked out.

Hi pauliusx9, in my case I use Xentry with GODIAG and it works great. Now when I finish installing the trailer control unit with wiring I'm going to activate it. I'm going to try to do it with Xentry and if not I'll resort to Vediamo. I have no problem with the cable, that's true, I use it for a 2020 GLC.

Is there any difference between Tactrix Openport and Chinese Openport? Should both have the same features when using Xentry or?

The Chinese one may kill the ECU during the flashing operation, the other one is genuine and will be more stable for flashing and tuning. Both can do simple quick operations like read/clear/set.

I have Tactrix Openport 2.0 from AliExpress. I have already flashed the TPCM module in W212 without any problems.

I bought a Chinese clone of Openport 2.0 a few years ago and it works fine with several versions of XENTRY PassThru, as well as Vediamo 4.02 and DTS Monaco 8.14, I've done some coding with it. I've yet to try it with DTS Monaco 9.

Scanmatik clone works great :)

I use Openport 2.0 clone with ODIS, XPT, Vediamo.
Coding and diagnostics work. I have not noticed any problems.
I am thinking about upgrading to original Scanmatik (supports 24V).

Do not connect the Openport 2.0 clone to a computer connected to the Internet.

I have a clone of the Tactrix Openport 2.0 interface and I really like it, although I read that to improve it you need to change the resistor. Can you explain in more detail?

You can find a real Tactrix for a reasonable price... maybe not $50, but I got mine for $100 with shipping and everything. You can do even better. As far as I can tell, clone cables are a pain, you can't update the firmware (well, at least when I bought it), I think you need special drivers, etc. If you're going to do anything serious with it (coding, etc), consider the real thing. This is MUCH cheaper both in terms of equipment cost (ECU replacement) and time.
