I need a J2534 interface that supports XENTRY PassThru reasonably well, within a £20-£50 budget.
So far my search/recommendations have led me to the Tactrix Openport 2.0 interface (original price £180). However, I'm initially interested in trying out more budget alternatives.
The car is a 2009 W207 E350.

Another vote for the Chinese clone Tactrix Openport 2.0 from a very famous Chinese site.
My friends and I use them with DTS Monaco to connect our cars.
I paid 22 euros for it. Now 15.

Is it possible to flash the ECU using Tactrix Openport 2.0?

Does Chinese clone Super MB PRO work?
I use Scanmatik 2 PRO and it is the best Passthru tool I have ever seen. Especially the data transfer speed.

Can the latest version of XPT work with J2354 Launch SmartLink C 2.0?

VCX SE works best from J2534. If you don't mind spending money on a good multiplexer. Chinese C6 is the same, only in a different case.

I use GODIAG Nano J2534, useful and inexpensive for my purposes.

What interfaces work with older Mercedes-Benz? Up to 2003 W210, W202, W203, OM606, 605, 613, 612 etc. As far as I understand these models have K-line for scanning and coding.

I have successfully used the GODIAG GD101 J2534 device with XPT, although there seem to be some connection issues, although it is unclear whether this is a fault with the device or my XPT setup. I was able to read all the fault codes and clear them, as well as change some settings in various modules of the car. No experience with other software yet.

Likewise, I'm using the official Tactrix 2.0 cable and I'm only having trouble accessing the ME on my CLS55. It seems to work fine with all other modules. I haven't tried coding with it since I'm not too familiar with coding.

ME only supports K-Line, so Tactrix 2.0 doesn't talk to it. I did a lot of testing on the test bench to try to get it to work, but couldn't. I just got the SM2Pro and hope it does the job.
