How to Save Coding to HU6

Maybe the new 25 Sprinter is already HU7. Hard to say, try running Xentry to see what modules you have in your car. Sorry, can't help you any further.

Is it possible to activate CarPlay or Android Auto using simple coding as described above? I thought it required a valid certificate.

I do not describe any coding, only unlocking the necessary ECUs. Coding is done after unlocking. You should know what to code yourself. Also, my CarPlay was already enabled when I bought my car, so I can't help with that.

You are right, NTG6 also requires a certificate. There are no other solutions available yet. However, Delon explained how to code some things, not limited to CarPlay.

I made sure the changes were fully saved and everything was done correctly for HU6 by following these steps:

  1. Go to "Diagnostics Services" -> EZS167 -> "Session", select "Extended Start" and click "Transmit".
  2. Then "Diagnostics Services" -> EZS167 -> Generic Jobs -> "Security Access Level 3B" and click "Transmit". This will open the firewall.
  3. Instead, go to "Diagnostics Services" -> HU6 -> "Session", select "Extended Start" and click "Transmit". The diagnostics are now displayed on the MBUX screen.
  4. Coding time... Switch to the "Variant Coding" tab to perform the necessary coding, then click "Do Coding".
  5. Go to "Diagnostics Services" -> HU6 -> "Asynchronous Routine", select "Synchronize to Non-volatile Memory Start" and click "Transmit".
  6. Then "Diagnostics Services" -> HU6 -> "Asynchronous Routine", select "Synchronize to Non-volatile Memory Result" and click "Transmit".
  7. Last but not least, go to "Diagnostics Services" -> HU6 -> "Ecu Reset", select "Hard Reset" and click "Transmit".

Important. If you skip the asynchronous routine steps (5-7), the coding changes will not be saved permanently for HU6.

Another new thing I discovered is that if you have a project you want, you connect to HU6 and change the coding as you wish, click DO CODING and it will automatically do all the steps without any extra work and also save the coding. It will look like you press DO CODING, wait a bit, and the HU6 will reboot, and when you reconnect, the codings will be saved. Just discovered this. Don't use the regular PKW projects, use the ones with Quicktest/Kurztest and open Quicktest/Kurztest.
